أهلاً وسهلاً · Welcome
For Middle Eastern Families in the Portland Metro
Buying a home should not feel like
a translation problem.
I was born in Baghdad and speak Arabic and Aramaic fluently. I have lived in Oregon for over two decades. If you are an Iraqi, Chaldean, Assyrian, Lebanese, Syrian, Jordanian, Palestinian, or Egyptian family looking to buy or sell a home in the Portland metro area, I understand both sides of what you are navigating.
The specific things that come up when you are buying a home as an immigrant family.
Understanding the American home buying process
Buying a home in the United States is different from buying in Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, or Egypt. There are specific disclosures, inspections, title processes, and financing structures that are unique to the US system. I walk you through each one in a language you are comfortable in, so nothing feels unclear or surprising.
Financing when you are new to US credit
If you are newer to the United States, you may not have the credit history that American lenders typically require. There are lenders in Portland who specialize in ITIN loans, international borrowers, and non-traditional income verification. I introduce you to lenders I trust, including some who speak Arabic directly with you.
Choosing the right neighborhood for your family
Where you live matters. Many Middle Eastern families in the Portland metro settle in Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, and parts of Southeast Portland because of established community, access to Middle Eastern grocery stores, places of worship, and strong public schools. I help you weigh these factors honestly against your budget and goals.
Working with cultural and family considerations
Buying a home is often a multi-generational decision. Parents and extended family may be part of the conversation. Space for guests, prayer, and large gatherings matter. I understand these considerations and factor them into how we search, not as an afterthought.
Portland metro neighborhoods with established Middle Eastern communities.
Beaverton
Home to one of the largest Middle Eastern communities in the Portland metro, with multiple Arabic grocery stores, restaurants, and places of worship. Strong Beaverton School District, good access to tech employers.
Hillsboro
Portland's Silicon Forest. Highly international community, significant Middle Eastern and South Asian population. Short commute to Intel, Nike, and the Westside tech corridor.
Tigard
Quieter southwest-side suburb with established neighborhoods and Tigard-Tualatin School District. Good value for the square footage, close to Beaverton's Middle Eastern amenities.
Southeast Portland
Walkable close-in neighborhoods for families who want city life with character. Access to Portland's wider international community and food scene.

Many families I work with reach out first on WhatsApp. That is completely welcome. Message me in English, Arabic, or Aramaic and we can take it from there.
